As the Housing Services Manager, Laura’s role goes beyond supporting housing searches. With over five years of dedication to advocating for our Dunn House residents, she has garnered a deep understanding of the significance of a healthy home and the challenges involved in obtaining and maintaining one.
Sonja Herbold, Dunn House Program Manager, was born and raised in the picturesque landscapes of Southern Oregon. As a mother of three and a bonus mom to four more, Sonja treasures family time as a core value close to her heart
Dawn Burks, Dunn House Shelter Program Manager, commenced her journey with Community Works as a HelpLine volunteer in 2009, eventually joining the staff in 2011.
Carol Rios became involved with Community Works as a volunteer in 2011. Throughout her tenure, Carol has held diverse roles, starting as a Dunn House Resource Advocate, then progressing to serve as the Hispanic Services Coordinator, and currently serving as the Diversity and Belonging Coordinator.
Susan believes it takes a community to heal its own and we are all connected in this together. She has recently worked in development at Asante Foundation and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Erin joined the Community Works team in 2018, initially serving as our Community Advocacy Manager. In 2022, recognizing her dedication and expertise, Erin was promoted to Advocacy Services Director. Her journey began in Montana, where she spent her formative years playing basketball and volleyball before discovering her passion for aiding individuals in crisis situations.
Kim Caplan, the Strategy Support Director, has been an integral part of Community Works since 2012. After beginning her career as an elementary school teacher, Kim witnessed firsthand the profound impact of trauma on families. This experience propelled her back to academia, where she earned a Master’s degree in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies.
Doug joined Community Works as the Finance Director in 2023, bringing with him extensive experience as the County Auditor of Gallatin County (Bozeman, MT), where he spearheaded the implementation of the county’s inaugural computerized budget, accounting, and reporting system.
Barbara Johnson holds the role of Executive Director at Community Works. Her involvement with the organization commenced as a volunteer, initially serving in an advisory capacity and later on the Board of Directors. In 2016, recognizing her contributions and dedication, she was asked to perform in the organizations the role as Executive Director.
